New Melbourne

New Melbourne

New Melbourne was Misho's first solo exhibition. Held at Matt Irwin Gallery in June 2011, the exhibition showcased 20 mobile photographs of Melbourne, shot between 2010-11.

The novelty of the mobile photographic medium is alluded to by the "new" in the exhibition title, but more than anything, New Melbourne is suggestive of the capability of mobile photography to look anew at the every changing, fast moving space of the city. That Melbourne is one of Australia's most photographed of cities is testament to its visbile and fascinating modernity: the city streets, modes of transport and communal spaces that Misho captures in these images.

The exhibition was a resounding success with extensive local and national coverage of the event, including this ABC Art Nation feature.
